Howdy,
My vacation is going splendidly. I’m knocking out edits and catching up on many pesky taskers, the small but essential tasks that often get overlooked.
After Memorial Day, we’ll all take a knee until the beginning of June. You’ll get some new stuff periodically, but mostly, it will be archived articles by our trusted Afghan allies daily.
However, we will start re-publishing both Shoulder to Shoulder and Voices of the Resistance in early June. Jugraan, our Afghan XO, is giving the show a facelift, so, hopefully, it will look more professional—but not too professional. I am retired, for goodness sake.
During June, you’ll receive more podcasts than articles. However, after 4 July, we’ll resume regular operations.
I'm thrilled to share that my writing will be more structured, making it easier for you to follow along and stay updated.
Monday: Either Dear Texas Democrats or The Wilderness (my political writings, which are always free)
Tuesday: Shoulder to Shoulder
Wednesday: Will’s War Stories (also free)
Thursday: Voices of the Resistance
Friday: ***New product: Schadenfreude Friday*** and the Weekly Wrap.
All of these products will be free, a token of our appreciation for your continued support. After 4 July, the following publications will be behind a paywall: Raw Atmospherics (the latest rumor mill in Afghanistan), the Terrorism Chronicles, Spy vs. Spy, Why Veterans Kill Themselves, and Letters to My Princess General.
However, we will still publish all of our other newsletters from our contributors for free.
Man, that’s quite a bit!
Zmoongo Andiwalaano (our people),
Times are tough for Afghans. I fear the future, to be honest. Nevertheless, we’re not ones to back away from a fight. If you’re so inclined, we would appreciate you becoming a paid subscriber. All paid subscriptions help fuel Grumpy Combat Veteran, which is steered by four Afghan refugees. And if you’re a balla on a budget, drop us a line and we can work something out.
Lastly, if you’re a vet, you get a year-paid subscription; if you’re a GWOT vet, you’re in for life.
